Eric Yetter Memorial
September 14 & 15, 2002

The Eric Yetter was held on two PA courses: Tyler State Park and Tinicum. The courses are vastly different. Tyler is an extremely wooded course. Many of the holes are quite long and it can be pretty frustrating. Tinicum has good variety. It is a beautiful course surrounded by hundreds and hundreds of grand mature trees. I would love to see this course in the fall when the leaves are at turning. The course has some great holes, but it is obvious that the long pins where put in well after the course was installed. In other words, the courses doesn't have very good flow.

Now, onto the tournament which was very poorly attended. There were only 29 pro men, about 8 masters and I was the only pro woman. Everyone played one round at Tyler on Saturday. The weather was beautiful. It was kind of a nice change to just play one round on Saturday. Shawn shot 89 and I shot 97. I played really well during the middle 9, but not so hot during the other two 9's. Shawn played mediocre - nothing really good but nothing really bad.

On Sunday, the clouds rolled in and rain was in the forecast. We managed to finish the first round without any rain, but the skies opened up during part of the final round. Thankfully, it didn't last the entire round. Because I was the only pro woman, I was placed in a group of advanced women. It was a really fun day. I met and played with 3 new women. Shawn started the day on the third card. After the second round he moved up to the second card. He finished in 8th.
