Turkey Shoot

This event was misrepresented on the PDGA schedule. We expected it to be a two-day B tier singles event. Instead it was a single day doubles event. Shawn played with local golfer, Jim Tobish. There were only three women (Anni Kreml, Ruth Steele, and myself) interested in playing. We all got together and asked the TD if we could play a best shot triples against all the other open men's doubles team. He thought it was a great idea. (Thanks, Mike!) There were 9 teams total. We played best shot both rounds with the course in it's long configuration first round and most baskets in the short configuration during the second round.

Roger Cansler and Mike Ruziska had the best first round shooting 4 under. The girls and I were only 1 stroke back and found ourselves on the lead card second round. Shawn and Jim had a rough time of it and were 3 strokes off the lead. They did much better the second round shooting 7 down and came back up to 3rd. Roger and Mike remained in the lead and the girls and I slipped back one stroke behind Shawn and Jim.

The event was held at the course Shawn designed and installed prior to hitting the tour. It is an amazing course. It is incredibly beautiful and also quite challenging. It looks a little similar to the two courses we playing in Beaminster England. Rolling hills with great views.
