This year we were able to celebrate Thanksgiving with Shawn's father, Jerry, who lives in Casper, CA which is a quant little coastal town in northern California. The weather was unseasonably warm and we took advantage of it.

We went to glass beach which is an incredibly beautiful beach that was created in not such an incredible way. Decades ago there was a dump on the site of this beach. It has since been cleaned up of course, but all the glass containers and bottles that were dumped at the site have been crushed and the glass has been polished by the power of the ocean. The result is a beach of unusual colors.

We took a bike ride along the coast. We took a walk through the woods along the water to find a blow hole which was amazing. We played the Mendocino disc golf course a couple of times. And we met Jerry's fiance who is a wonderful and talented woman, Wendy.

It was a great week and we feel fortunate to be part of such a nice family.
