Sioux Passage Open
S
t. Louis, MO

We have been home all week and it has been great to get out of the van and stretch our legs a bit. We've hit the gym every day and actually rented the first season of the Ozbornes which was absolutely hysterical. Today is a one-day C tier event at Sioux Passage. This course is on a beautiful piece of land north of St. Louis. It is an 18 hole course that has 3 tees for each hole. When I think of this course I think of a long difficult course. During this tournament, however, we didn't play the long tees. We started with the middle tees and then finished with the short tees which I had never played. It was a strange sensation playing a small layout on this huge piece of land. There was a lot of walking between mostly tiny little holes. Regardless of the which set of tees you play, it is an enjoyable course. I had a few bad holes on the front 9 but then played extremely well on the back which is actually harder. Shawn never got it together and finished over par.

The second round went fairly well for me and I won by 8. Shawn played much better, but wasn't able to make up the strokes he lost during the first round.

Maybe the best part of this event was watching Shawn play catch with Nikko, who is a jr disc golfer and the nephew of Gateway's Dave McCormick. Both Shawn and Nikko were trying to make up new ways to throw the frisbee. It was quite amusing.
