Bad weather was in the forecast for this event. We almost made it through the first round of 27 Saturday before the rain started. During lunch the rain continued to come down hard. The second round was started, but stopped after 6 holes due to lightning. We had to call it a day and were told we would play two rounds of 27 the following day. We were supposed to start around 8:30 in the morning, but we couldn't even get into the park by then because there had been so much rain that the park was closed and there were people surveying the land to see if it was safe. Three hours later we were given the OK to play the course. We only had time for one additional 27 hole round. The course was laid out in the long placements which are incredibly tough with very narrow winding fairways. Perhaps with the weather forecast people stayed away from this event as there was a low turnout in all divisions. The Flying Squirrels did a great job regardless and showed there dedication to the sport with a HUGE payout. They gave 300% payback in the women's division and first place men's open was over $1100 even though there where only 23 people in the division.
