This was my second year at this event. It is one of the highlights of the year. I wish more events would include the other flying disc disciplines. At Tennessee you can compete in golf, accuraccy, distance, MTA, DDC, and freestyle. It is a busy weekend, but it is a blast! I love trying the other events. I also love watching the events especially DDC and freestyle. Unfortunately, as with most events, there aren't very many women. Women, please come out and give this a try. You don't have to know how to do all the events. There are many people trying them for the first time. It's really a different atmosphere than you find at a golf only event.

In the women's division: I took first in golf followed by Donna Payne. Accuraccy was very close but I managed to win with a score of 14. DeRusha Hawkins was close behind. I won distance with a throw of 353 feet. I was happy to make a catch in MTA at about 6.5 seconds. Not very good, but I'm still just excited to make a catch. DeRusha was close behind with a 5 second catch. I also competed in DDC and freestyle while none of the other women decided to do so. I played DDC with Shawn. We are getting better. I did a much better job catching this year, but I still have a long way to go in this game. It really is fun to play.

In freestyle Shawn and I paired up with Glenn Whitlock. He is a master at manipulating a disc. We did well enough in the preliminaries to move on to the finals. In the finals we had a near dropless routine. We hit almost EVERYTHING! For me that meant a few under the leg things and a couple of catches. For Shawn it meant a double legover gitus pull, barrel roll catches, high flying gitus pulls, body rolls and brushing. For Glen it meant crazy upside down turnover stuff, rim work, reversing the spin multiple times, different kinds of body rolls and brushing. While Glen and Shawn completed all their tricks, I threw in some fluff. Then Glen sealed it with the first jumping gitus hes done in about 10 years. (Glen has a bad knee). It was the most fun I've had competeing all year. It was amazing! We even managed to come in 3rd!
